Police Brutality Dept: I am outraged that Bill C-49 is at its second reading in Parliament. This new Immigration Act would allow the minister of public safety to declare any group of migrants coming in to Canada, a smuggling incident, according to The Star. It would allow the government to criminalize refugees by jailing them for a minimum of one year, denying them access to health service, denying them the right of appeal to a rejected refugee claim and, shockingly, put in an ex-CSIS director and the man responsible for police brutality during the G20, as a special advisor on human migration.
