Pierre Yves: Publication Ban

Police Shooting Dept: Pierre-Yves Boisvert tried to get a publication ban on arguments about why the reports are not relevant to the coroner's inquest into the police shooting of Fredy Villanueva, according to Montreal Gazette. Even though both studies were commissioned by the force itself, Boisvert slammed the quality of the work, saying it would be "dangerous" for ad hoc coroner Andre Perreault to allow them and try as he might, the city's lawyer has failed to keep two damning internal reports highlighting racism and racial profiling on Montreal's police force out of the public's hands. When that failed, he tried to keep the reports from being entered as evidence, which would have kept them secret. As reported in the news.
