PhD Student: Immigrant Youth

Moving To Canada Dept: U of C Faculty of Education PhD student, Suzie Bisson, is working with immigrant youth to look at ways of easing that transition, according to CTV. Bisson is working with students aged 15 to 18 born in countries impacted by violence. She says in essence, the participants are also the researchers and for many people, moving to Canada is a dream come true, but that doesn't mean it's an easy move. "It's not an easy transition at all. It takes lots of years and lots of time and lots of good experiences, but if we can find out what helps to make that transition easier, then we can do more of it purposefully," said Bisson. As reported in the news.
