Voluntary Organizations Dept: Approximately 32.5 per cent of Alberta non-profit organizations have reported a worsening financial situation than a year ago, according to a survey of nearly 600 charities conducted by the Calgary Chamber of Voluntary Organizations this spring, according to Calgary Herald. Delivering services without necessary resources can create an "ongoing corrosive effect" on the entire sector, said Katherine van Kooy, the agency's president and CEO and c algary charities are faring better than others in the province, although all of Alberta's non-profits are having to continue to cope with tougher economic conditions.
