Safety Orders Dept: The report made headlines in April for stating that 63 Alberta employers ignored safety orders issued by Occupational Health and Safety for more than a year, according to CBC. Saher has now found follow-up inspections were performed which showed that some companies did comply with the orders and the failure of provincial safety officers to update their records led Auditor General Merwan Saher to overstate the number of unsafe workplaces in his spring report, he said Friday.
