Saskatoon Dept: The 13,520 people who chose to call the province their new home is the largest number of immigrants in a single year in Manitoba since modern record keeping began in 1946, according to CBC. The total is an increase of more than 20 per cent from the 11,218 people who came in 2008, and surpasses the record of 11,614 from 1957 and more immigrants settled in Winnipeg last year than Quebec City, Regina, Saskatoon, Victoria, Fredericton and Red Deer combined. According to the provincial government, nearly 10,000 of those people chose to settle in Winnipeg while another 3,520 chose other parts of the province. As
