Prevention Programs Dept: Mark Randall was diagnosed with HIV in 1988. The virus developed into AIDS and Randall expected the worst, but advances in treatment have changed his life, according to CTV. Randall is one of 1,300 patients at the Southern Alberta HIV clinic. Over the past two decades, awareness and prevention programs have increased, but so have the number of cases and the Southern Alberta HIV Clinic is marking its 20th anniversary. Over those two decades, there have been major advancements in HIV/AIDS treatments, but the number of patients at the clinic continues to grow. "The reality is I am looking at retirement. The reality is I have gone back to work full-time. I've gone from planning my funeral, to planning my retirement," commented Randall. As
reported in the news.
