Communication Breakdown Dept: Chiac is commonly attributed to Acadians and other francophones in the Moncton area who fluently mesh English and French in their everyday conversations, according to CBC. Pierre-Andre Saindon started volunteering with francophone immigrants a few years ago and that's when he started to notice a communication breakdown between his mother tongue and theirs and immigrants moving to southeastern New Brunswick will no longer be left mystified by the region's unique mixture of English and French as a course will be offered in Chiac. The local dialect has become popularized by comedians and even television programs in recent years and a dictionary was even published by local university professors to help doctors better communicate with their patients.
