Canada Border Services: Refugee Protection Act

Immigration And Refugee Dept: Mike Schut of Bulk Carriers Ltd. pleaded guilty to charges under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act last week. He was granted an absolute discharge on Monday in provincial court in Charlottetown, according to CBC. The company's owner, Jack Kelly, was also charged at the time, but under a plea agreement covering both Kelly and Schut, only Schut had to enter a guilty plea and the operations manager of a trucking company in Cornwall, P.E.I., has received an absolute discharge after admitting he altered the job contract of one of his drivers. The charges misrepresentation and counselling to misrepresent were laid in September 2009 by the Canada Border Services Agency. As reported in the news.
