Moniker Dept: The Crown says the case is a judicial rarity with no jurisprudence in Canada, because the man wasn't actually trying to steal money using Fiedler's name; apparently, he just wanted to avoid immigration authorities, according to CTV. That triggered an RCMP investigation and peter Michael Filitz was sentenced to three months in jail and ordered to pay a $1,500 fine for making false statements on a passport form, for identity theft, and for possessing passports with false credentials. Filitz used Fiedler's moniker until his arrest earlier this year, after the real Donald Fiedler applied for a passport and was told he already had one. As
reported in the news.
