Dave Rogers Award: Television Newscast

Radio-Television News Directors Association Dept: reporter Elizabeth McMillan picked up the Dave Rogers Award in the best feature reporting category for her radio story on the rich history of Yellowknife's Gold Range, according to CBC. Both awards were in the small market category and north has won two distinguished awards at this year s Radio-Television News Directors Association, a national association which recognizes the best in Canadian electronic journalism. Northbeat producer Jay Legere and the award for best television newscast, small market, for the November 2011 show. And Northbeat, North's English supper-hour newscast won the Bert Cannings award for Canada's best television newscast for its special Remembrance Day show in November 2011.
