Canadian families who have sponsored refugees are disillusioned by delays after the Canadian government dramatically reduced refugee processing staff in Winnipeg and the Middle East, write Ian Urquhart and Ross McGregor. Overlooked in the refugee numbers game is that, after achieving its initial target of 25,000 refugees admitted by the end of February, the government left thousands of privately sponsored Syrian families in the lurch.
