Ruth Goldbloom: Nova Scotia

Philanthropic Efforts Dept: Much has already been said of Ruth s amazing philanthropic efforts on behalf of a myriad organizations and institutions in this province. Pier 21, Canada s Museum of Immigration, is the jewel in her crown of public service accomplishments. It simply would not have happened without her, according to The Chronicle Herald. She was engaging, endlessly charming and always very interested in what was going on and nova Scotia said goodbye to a great champion Friday as last respects were paid in Halifax to the dynamic Ruth Goldbloom. Goldbloom was a tiny wisp of a woman who was bigger than life. She had an amazing way, at the thousands of crowded fundraising dinners and events she dutifully attended over the years, of making people she spoke with feel like the only person in the room.
