Workers Dept: The workers were hoping for a public apology from Finley, according to CBC. She blamed employees working on EI claims for a processing backlog that left thousands of Canadians waiting months for their cheques and the Canadian Employment and Immigration Union, which represents employment insurance workers on PEI, was notified last week that worker complaints about comments made by Diane Finley, Canada's Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development Canada, have been dismissed. More than 2,300 hundred EI workers on Prince Edward Island filed a grievance against Finley over comments she made in The Charlottetown Guardian last November.
